The Cite de la Musique in tranquil Soissons, an hour from Paris, was our home for several days as we recorded all sixteen Mozart Sonatas for Violin and Piano with Renaud Capucon and Kit Armstrong in sessions and concerts. To record all of these masterworks in three long days was an extraordinary accomplishment that required intense concentration and focus, something these artists have in abundance. Each of these works is a uniquely beautiful outpouring of Mozart's genius. Michael Fine produced the sessions with Jin Choi, engineer. Editing to start soon!
Michael Fine's Chamber Symphony will be premiered by the Colorado College Summer Music Festival on June 18 at 19:30 in Packard Hall with all-star group of musicians conducted by Scott Yoo: Alice Dade, flute; Elizabeth Koch, oboe; Anton Rist, clarinet; *festival fellow, bass clarinet Michael Thornton, horn; Kevin Cobb, trumpet; Tonya Jilling, harp Steven Copes, violin; Virginia Barron, viola; David Ying, cello; Susan Cahill, bass Scott Yoo, conductor.
Michael Fine Music becomes the new business for all of Michael's recording, composing, and recording works. All clients will now receive invoices from Michael Fine Music rather than Fine Sound Productions - the name of our company for over 20 years.
Cellist Hee-Young Lim recorded her second CD with Michael Fine: a program of Russian sonatas - Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich - with pianist Nathalia Milstein in Hannover's Leibnizsaal. The engineer was Jin Choi.
