Warners Classics announces the release of Gautier Capuçon's latest album, Destination Paris, with Jérôme Ducros, the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, and the Maîtrise de Radio France all conducted by Lionel Bringuier. The album, recorded in Salle Colonne, is lean-back repertoire from popular film melodies to French chansons to classical pieces – including “La Foule” by Édith Piaf, the main theme from "Summer of '42" by Michel Legrand, “Beau soir” by Debussy, Sicilienne by Fauré, and “Chi Mai” by Ennio Morricone. Jean Jacques Goldman, one of France’s most popular songwriters and composers, wrote a new song for this album, “Pense à nous”, for cello, children's choir and orchestra and made a special arrangement of his “Envole-moi." We traveled to Prague to record a unique program of Penderecki's music for flute and orchestra with Stathis Karapanos. Joining Stathis for the Concerto Doppio was clarinetist Krzysztof Gryzbowski. Stefan Asbury conducted the PKF-Prague Philharmonia in sessions at Crossroads St Anne's. The engineer on the session was Filip Benes. The recording is now in post-production. Several labels have already expressed interest in this project.
Bulgarian pianist Ivan Yanakov recorded a program of Haydn, Franck, and Rachmaninoff at MCO5 Studios in Hilversum. Ivan choose a particular beautiful Fazzioli for these sessions, now in post-production at Michael Fine Music. Erdo Groot was the balance engineer. We are in discussion with several labels about releasing the master.
Evidence Classics will release a recording of Michael Fine's 'For A Friend' recorded by its dedicatee, Lina Vartanova, and pianist Ekaterina Ayzenshtadt as a digital single across all streaming platforms on 25 August. Lina is currently a principal musician in the musicAeterna orchestra under the direction of Teodor Currentzis. The recording was made by Maksim Ignatev at the Vaults Centre for Artistic Production in Moscow
Post production has finished on two exciting recordings: Gautier Capuçon's 'Destination Paris' with pianist Jérôme Ducros, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris and conductor Lionel Bringuier. Following up on the critical and commercial success of 'Emotions' and 'Sensations,' the new Warners album is a mix of classics - classical and pop in rich and alluring arrangements by Ducros and a very special surprise. The release is scheduled for November 2023.
