    Tammy Saylor Fine (1956-2024)  It is with great sorrow that I announce the death of my wife and partner in Fine Sound Productions/Michael Fine Music on 27 May 2024 after a heroic twelve year battle with an incurable blood cancer.  Tammy was my soulmate, my partner in everything, and my hero.  She continued to work with me at recording sessions and accompany me to performances of my compositions throughout her treatments and never once had a word of complaint.  She will be truly missed.

    Sung-Won Yang's recording of the Schumann Cello Concerto with Hans Graf conducting the London Symphony Orchestra has been released by Decca. The recording, made in LSO St Luke's was produced by Michael Fine with Jin Choi, balance engineer, Tammy Saylor Fine, production coordinator.  Prof Yang's recording of the. Elgar Cello Concerto from the same sessions will be featured on a later Decca release.

    Pianist Gile Bae recorded the Chopin Preludes in MCO 5, Hilversum. Michael Fine produced the sessions with engineer Erdo Groot.

    Pianist Gile Bae recorded the Chopin Preludes in MCO 5, Hilversum. Michael Fine produced the sessions with engineer Erdo Groot.  The piano technician was Kazuto Osato who took care of Gile's Bösendorfer.  Gile's recording of Bach and Schumann - also recorded in MCO 5 with Michael and Erdo - will be released on Universal Classics later this year.  Here is the last movement of Bach's Italian Concerto from those sessions: https://vimeo.com/920971721/7860d8c538?share=copy

    Michael Fine's Flute Concerto 2 - ¿Te acuerdas?

    Michael Fine's Flute Concerto 2 - ¿Te acuerdas? was premiered by Stathis Karapanos with the Franz Schubert Philharmonia conducted by Christoph Eschenbach at the Teatre Tarragona with a second performance in Barcelona's Palau de Musica Catalana.  Critic Luis Suárez, in Ritmo.es, called the piece "a beautiful score in the purest XXI Century style, with appropriate dissonances and nostalgic fragrances of nostalgic sensations.'

    Renaud Capuçon follows his best-selling 2018 album - 'Cinema' - with Les Choses de la Vie – Cinema II. It featurees 19 titles written by French film composers or for iconic French films. This includes, among others, Michel Legrand’s “The Windmills of Your Mind” featured on the 1968 soundtrack to The Thomas Crown Affair; Joseph Kosma’s “Les Feuilles mortes” heard in the 1946 film Les Portes de la nuit; and themes from the scores to The Shape of Water (2017) by Alexandre Desplat, Lawrence of Arabia (1962) by Maurice Jarre, Memories of Me (1988) by Georges Delerue, and Les Choses de la vie (1970) by Philippe Sarde, which inspired the project’s name.  Les Siècles and conductor Duncan Ward provided the perfect accompaniment.
