Michael Fine's 'A Time of Uncertainties' was given its world

Michael Fine's 'A Time of Uncertainties' was given its world (concert) premiere on 9 June at the Lobcowicz Palace in Prague, played by the PKF Prague Philharmonia conducted by Emmanuel Villaume.  It was on a program with music by Mozart, Gluck, and Beethoven and was warmly received.  As Klassicaplus.cz's critic wrote:  "Michael Fine's 'A Time of Uncertainty,' written in an airport lounge in the USA while the composer was en-route home after learning that his wife was seriously ill, was performed by the PKF's string ensemble and timpani. Conductor Emmanuel Villaume brought inner urgency and a powerful intensity to his interpretation, imbuing this spellbinding composition with a deep dramatic spirit and an emphasis on long and disturbing melodic lines and impressively changing rhythms.
