Telarc releases volume two of Brahms Beloved with John Axelrod, conductor and pianist, Orchestra LaVerdi, and singers Dame Felicity Lott and Wolfgang Holzmaier. The recording pairs Brahms Symphonies 1 and 3 with lieder by Clara Schumann. As Jerry Dubbins writes in Fanfare: 'Add to all of this Michael Fine's and Wolf-Dieter Karwatky's magnificent recorded sound, and you have a pair of Brahms symphonies for the ages. I can’t urge you too strongly to acquire this two-disc set.'
