Grace Park's exquisite performances of Dvorak and Mozart with the Prague Philharmonia, conducted by Emmanuel Villaume, is scheduled for release on Orchid Classics in March. The recording features Dvorak's Romance and Mozart's Violin Concerto Nr 5 along with the world premiere of Alex Fortes' convincing and idiomatic orchestration of Dvorak's Four Romantic Pieces. Michael Fine produced the sessions with engineer Jakub Hadraba.
Musical Bridges Around the World presented a concert in San Antonio, Texas with the laureates of the 2024 Gurwitz International Piano Competition which included the world premiere performances of my Three Preludes for Piano: 1) Han-Byeol (played by Yungyung Guo 2) Walking in the Botanical Gardens (played by Young Sun Choi) and Sailing (played by Tatiana Dorokhova.) The three pianists performed my 'San Antonio Celebration,' commissioned by the Gurwitz Competition for piano six hands to conclude the concert. I speak a bit about the pieces in this video: https://youtu.be/buzS5-
Henry Wood Hall was the site for sessions with the London Symphony Orchestra with pianist Chris Au and violinist/conductor Gian Paolo Peloso. Chris Au performed Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto with Gian Paolo Peloso conducting. Peloso than recorded Mozart's 5th Violin Concerto as soloist and conductor. The recording will be finished in late March with sessions, also in Henry Wood Hall, for Mozart's Don Giovanni Overture and Beethoven's Egmont Overture with Peloso conducting the LSO. Michael Fine produced the sessions. Erdo Groot, assisted by Jonathan Stokes of Classic Sound, was the balance engineer on the session
Michael Fine just finished sessions at the Barclay Theatre on the UCLA Irvine Campus with the Barclay Trio - Dennis Kim, violin; Jonah Kim, cello, and Sean Kennard, piano. Three new piano trios - by Sheridan Seyfreed, John Christopher Wineglass, and me - were recorded. Working with me on the sessions was engineer Alex Kosiorek. I must say that hearing my music played by such fine musicians was a special treat.
A marathon of Mozart with pianist Jae-hyuck Cho at MCO5 Studios in Hilversum: the eighteen Mozart Piano Sonatas recorded in a 10 day period. These were revelatory sessions revealing Mozart's genius on the studio's extraordinary Steinway D piano. These expressive and pellucid performances will be eye-opening for those who hear Mozart as a musician only of his own era's sensibilities. Working with me on this very special project was engineer Erdo Groot and piano technicians Charles Rademaker and Martijn van Dijk.
